FROM THE NEWS NEST: CocoRosie Wants Your Films

At this year’s donaufestival, along with presenting a multifarious program combining music, theatre, dance, performance, film, video, and photo art, this year’s artists-in-residence, CocoRosie, and numerous guests will be creating a live musical score for a short film selected by Rupert Casady and the Autralian filmmaker, Emma Freeman.

Here is where your short film making talents come into play. CocoRosie invites you to send your short films or videos for “Harmless Monster” – a screening of short silent films with a live musical score. All genres and styles of film are welcomed with the following stipulations: they must be five minutes or less without sound – CocoRosie will take care of that! Send your submission using MediaFire before March 30th, 2012, to this email addy. For more information on donaufestival 2012 and the “Harmless Monster” live film-music project click HERE.

If you would like to see CocoRosie live, the ladies will be heading back to the states on June 9th to play the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in Los Angeles. You can purchase tickets by calling the Luckman Box Office at 323-343-6600 or via Ticketmaster. For more information on CocoRosie please visit Subpop.
