LIVE REVIEW: Coachella 2014, Weekend 2, Sunday
For most, Sunday at Coachella is bittersweet. By the final sunset of the weekend you begin to wonder if what happened the last three days was real (whether that is due to certain mood enhancers or not).
As music lovers we don’t see Coachella as a money-grabbing monster. For three days we are able to escape away from the city, feeling that desert breeze brush against our skin and rustle through the palm trees – something we long for the other 362 (or 359 if you’re really adventurous) days of the year. We bask in the glowing light of the evermore impressive art installations and the pulsating rhythms of the Do LaB.
Every festival has their own unique feeling, something that is not replicable. Sure, there may be many in attendance that aren’t keen to every artist on the bill, but so what? We know we’re there because we love and support the music that is being made and we know we’re not the only ones.
This goes out to those dudes in the front row during Arcade Fire shouting every lyric, to the young Nas fans and seasoned OutKast lovers who prove that good music has staying power, to those who unabashedly danced through Pharrell, Aloe Blacc, and Capital Cities. See you next year, Coachella.
