HEAR THIS: Vacationer

Nothing says summer like Vacationer’s new LP Mindset on Downtown Records. The Philly outfit tore it down and built it back up in the studio, coming up with a headphone masterpiece that works just as well with the wind whipping through lowered car windows. From the gauze of “Late Bloomer” to the glitchy “Turning,” it’s a testament to the partnership of Ken Vasoli and producer Daniel Schlett (Ghostface Killah) that all the twists and turns come to encapsulate one journey.

On the local interest tip, our own Cherry Kola Farms, (Sonoma County), have announced a signature “Mindset” strain of cannabis that will be released this fall.

For Vacationer’s particular brand of hazy dream pop, it seems like a perfect match. Vacationer is currently on tour with special guests SEGO. Catch them at the Constellation Room at the Observatory (Orange County) on 8/2, or the Teragram Ballroom (LA) on 8/3.
