ALBUM REVIEW: “Pacifica” by The Presets

The Presets
Pacifica
[Modular]

The third studio album from this dynamic duo, and they have totally pulled off a hat trick. Their first two albums were top shelf, but they have set the bar on this one, let’s keep in mind these boys are classically trained. Kim and Julian have exposed a lot more of themselves on Pacifica, bless their cotton socks. First time listeners jump aboard the magical mystery tour as it merges everything you love, electronica , intelligence, dance, pop, vocals, lyrics, and a genius blend of the new. Track 1, “Youth in Trouble” demands our attention with a strong message about the urgency and state of our youth, utilizing progressive builds and strong vocals. Track 3, “Ghosts” is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard, strong and edgy, a little different to their usual. This is an anthem. “Push” is pop mixed with spoken urgent word. “Adult’s Only” pick up from the youth, heart out on their sleeves, with a dark edge.
