Last month Matt Pond announced that he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from touring. Tears were definitely shed over that news, but there is a final run of shows which included a stop at the Echo on Thursday. With a fierce rhythm section borrowed from opener Laura Stevenson, the band attacked each song with  ferocity. They touched on nearly every record in the band’s redoubtable catalogue from 2000’s Measure to this year’s The State of Gold, condensing over 15 years of material into a taut set that was over too soon.
