HEAR THIS: Blüm

Nathan Bloom has branched out from his main gig in Hot Flash Heat Wave to create some of the most amorous dream pop I’ve heard lately under the moniker Blüm. A bedroom recording in his Bay Area homeland, the Blüm EP is quite indicative of his surroundings and experiences as a young’n in and out love. Each song could easily track to a short vignette (shot in slow-mo through a Brannan filter, no less) of you and your lover strolling along Baker Beach. Because really, what’s the hippest way to express love nowadays? Through hazy filtered Instagram posts, of course! Think Beach Fossils meets Real Estate with more mellow tempos and you’ll have your summertime soundtrack.
