PICTURE THIS: James Supercave + De Lux + Dead Times @ The Echo, LA 3/3/14

March 05. 2014 | By Samantha Saturday

The Echo has done it again, playing host to a Monday residency for yet another artist that is sure to reach great heights in the coming year. James Supercave, led by the impressive falsetto of Joaquin Pastor, has been stealing the spotlight as the opener for shows all across LA since their 2012 beginnings. Hovering somewhere between art and pop, it’s now time for them to get their own recognition.

First band Dead Times bills themselves as R&B, but the act is much more than that, leaning into the darker, more mysterious crevices of the genre.

With a super-hyped show at The Echo a few weeks ago, we were pleased to see young group De Lux on the bill. The crowd easily warmed up to their grooves, but when they kicked off single “Better At Making Time,” things really got going.
