PICTURE THIS: Bloc Party + The Drums @ Terminal 5, NYC 8/7/12

August 14. 2012 | By Daniel Topete

The first of a sold-out three day stint at Terminal 5 with Bloc Party and The Drums made for a beautiful Tuesday here in NYC.

The Drums kicked it off with their garage pop and got the crowd going. A particularly memorable moment was before playing “Best Friend,” singer Jonathan Pierce gave a very blunt description of the song: “This is a song about my best friend that died.”

Bloc Party played a set with a great mixture of old and new songs. A very happy Kele didn’t seem to want to leave the stage, riling the crowd into a frenzy after their second encore, yelling “This is a song to fight to, so don’t be pussies New York!”

Before ending the night with the classic “This Modern Love,” he told a fan “I just made your dream come true young lady.” All this to a fan that held a sign which read “This is My Dream.”
