PREVIEW: Vandaveer and Cheyenne Marie Mize @ Amnesia, 6/28

June 23. 2011 | By Valerie Veteto

Here on June 28th to croon into any and all of your soft spots, Americana band Vandaveer and singer/songwriter Cheyenne Marie Mize will be in SF at the 21+ venue, Amnesia. They’ll be strutting their folksy stuff to promote Vandaveer’s new album Dig Down Deep, and Cheyenne’s newest album, said to drop sometime later this year.

American Songwriter’s recent rave about Vandaveer said they were “equal parts folk and pop, towing a line where Nick Drake and Andrew Bird set up shop,” and NPR’s All Songs Considered team declared Mize as one of the best discoveries at SXSW 2011.

Sure it’s a Tuesday night, but it’s also summertime and the livin’s easy. Or easy enough with all of this sunshine heating up the Mission neighborhood, where Amnesia is conveniently located for all you plaid-sporting, mustache-twirling, buffalo-tattooed hipsters out there.
