PREVIEW: Kelly Thomas Memorial Concert & Canned Food Drive

Kelly Thomas was a 37-year old homeless man suffering from schizophrenia.

On July 5, 2011, Kelly had an altercation with Fullerton police officers.

Kelly died July 10th at the UC Irvine Medical Center after having suffered severe injuries during this altercation with Fullerton police officers.

In memory of Kelly Thomas, local musicians have come together to raise aid and awareness to the issues and needs of Orange County's destitute. On September 17th, bands such as Sederra, New Skool Kings

, Julian Porte, Mr. Mirainga, John Paget, and Robert Guta of the LA Philharmonic will perform a free outdoor concert to a community who has been deeply affected by Kelly's death and the startling reality of homelessness in Orange County.

The Kelly Thomas Memorial Fund (KTMF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting the homeless of Orange County. KTMF seeks to raise awareness to the issues and needs surrounding the growing homelessness in communities while providing direct relief through the collection and distribution of donations, clothing and food.
