PREVIEW: Japandroids with Cadence Weapon @ The Independent, SF 6/14/12

June 12. 2012 | By Collin Welbon

Ever wonder if the tall tales told about two-piece bands in lines outside dimly lit venues are true? Japandroids, the two-piece band from Vancouver, BC, is bringing their monstrous sound to a sold-out crowd at The Independent on Thursday, June 14th to deem every tall tale true. It may be redundant to say that Japandroids began touring in celebration of their recent release, Celebration Rock, on Polyvinyl Records, but every time Brian King and David Prowse step out on stage, it’s an energetic and praiseworthy celebration.

Canadian rapper Cadence Weapon is starting the evening out with his old school hip-hop sound revolving around his masterful, modern day lingo. Thursday, June 14th is set up to be a night at The Independent to never forget.
