PREVIEW: Air Guitar Regional @ Independent, SF 7/14/12

Sure the forthcoming Olympics are going to be cool. You know what would make them even cooler? An air guitar event. Imagine the best air guitar athletes on the world’s stage finger picking their way to gold. Imagine the sweat and chest hair. Imagine beer being spat over a rowdy audience because some costumed lawyer by day who now calls himself something like Nordic Thunder or Shred Nugent is in the zone. US Air Guitar won’t make its way to London, but it is coming to SF for a regional competition.

Contestants are judged on a combination of Technical Merit, Stage Presence, and “Airness.” Bjorn Turoque, star of the movie Air Guitar Nation, will return to host the US Air Guitar Championships. And 2008 SF, US & World Air Guitar Champion, Hot Lixx Hulahan, will return as a Judge.

This is a guaranteed fun time. Seriously.
