PICTURE THIS: Divine Fits @ Fonda, LA 11/4/12

The title “super group” can sometimes get thrown around with no real reason or significance. Thankfully, that is not the case with Divine Fits. Divine Fits is equal parts Brit Daniel (Spoon), Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs, Wolf Parade) and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks). The band’s pedigree wouldn’t matter if the music sucked – luckily it doesn’t. In fact, its pretty damn good. Each member brings their extensive experience playing live shows to Divine Fits and it is readily apparent. The band was tight, precise and alive at the Fonda. Songs like “Baby Get Worse” and “Salton Sea” had the crowd moving and it was clear the band was having just as much fun on the last day of the tour. By the end of the concert it was clear that the title of “super group” was a fitting one for Divine Fits. We just hope they’re here to stay.
