PICTURE THIS: Stone Temple Pilots @ Bonehead BBQ, SF 8/20/11

August 23. 2011 | By Brendan McWeeney

Stone Temple Pilots headlined the 1st annual Bonehead BBQ at the Fort Mason Meadows. The festival featured The Hooks, Fuel, Cheap Trick, Stone Temple Pilots and tons of great local food.

STP didn’t waste any time getting into the crowd favorites. They opened with “Crackerman” and Scott Weilands’s signature megaphone into the microphone technique, followed by “Wicked Garden” into “Vaseline.” They mixed in some of their newer stuff (IMHO weaker material), but went back to their money makers finishing up the set with “Sex Type Thing,” and encoring with “Dead & Bloated” and “Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart.”

Hopefully they can continue this tour without any further interruptions so that the lyrics “remember when we used to take drugs” from “Between the Lines” remain true. Stay clean Scott, rock ‘n roll needs STP.
