Boston’s Pretty & Nice is on a high. Between label shopping and endless songwriting, guitarists Jeremy Mendicino and Holden Lewis, and bassist Roger Lussier are shuffling their way to the punchdrunk-inducing grind pop pinnacle. Cranking out short, fast, and loud bouts of turbulent energy, Pretty & Nice is, well, anything but.

They carefully match calculated tonic shifts with irreverent, mercurial grit—a winning formula for tempo-driven, jerky blasts of euphonic violence. After last fall’s EP, Us You All We, and 2009’s Hardly Art release Get Young, the maniacal trio is finally gearing up for another full-album in early 2013. Their next release of their signature hook-riddled punk power is sure to be the defining turn of their career thus far, but don’t expect them to grow up just yet.
