HIGH SCHOOL REUNION: Dustin Shey (1994-1998)

September 22. 2011 | By Dustin Shey

Growing up in a small town in Texas and then transferring to an even smaller town in New Mexico in the late 90’s, my only source of discovering music was the radio. Nirvana was all the rage, but I was more of a Pearl Jam fan. The east coast vs. west coast rap war didn’t matter much to me, I dug anything new within ear shot. My high school playlist below sounds more like a “Now That’s What I Call Music” compilation disc than a grab bag of great underground bands (what my playlists look like these days). So press play, sit back, and relax while the memories of Dr. Martens, men wearing too much flannel, and bandannas flood your mind.

Bush – Machinehead

Seven Mary Three – My My

Puff Daddy – Come With Me (Godzilla soundtrack)

Silverchair – Ana’s Song (Open Fire)

Pearl Jam – Better Man
