San Diego trio, The Peripherals , released the quite delightful alt-folk record, Declarations, this summer, passing for the first time a complete set of material to their growing audience.

Defined more by their dedication to find a unique harmony, the musical backing rarely looks to take center stage, instead allowing singer Andrew Thams’ mixture of tenor and soprano vocals sit over the lightly strummed guitars and unassuming drum beat.

The accompaniment of fellow founding member Omar Musisko and most recent addition Dylan Jones on the vocal track gives Thams’ natural storytelling a much more engaging edge. Declarations is a solid record that gives out more on every listen – don’t let this slice of pie pass you by.
