YOU GOTTA SEE THIS: “Only For You” by Heartless Bastards

If you found yourself charmed by the chaste romance of Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, you’ll likely enjoy “Only For You,” the new video from Heartless Bastards‘ album Arrow.

Directed by Bradley Beesley, (director of several Flaming Lips videos) “Only for You” centers on the escapades of a prepubescent couple, though the Heartless Bastards pair are less bookish and temperamental than their Moonrise Kingdom counterparts. Despite the prosaic office setting they’re placed in, and their attempts to drive a car whose steering wheel is too high, these kids are… well, kids.

Amidst Erika Wennerstrom’s beautiful androgynous vocals, the two try to assume a grownup façade: dabs of cologne, swipes of lipstick, but their gleeful application of these adult artifacts—and their adorably bashful, cherubic faces—belie any maturity they might have hoped to simulate.
