TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 9/26/19 Edition

September 26. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

Well, if we were writing our own epitaph, this week’s edition serves it up in microcosm. Start and end with bangers, while shit gets weird in the middle. Starting in Oakland, as one does, Chris Adams is  Pendant ; “Through The Coil” is the transcendent title track of their debut LP, due out 11/8 on Tiny Engines. Only Rosie Tucker could turn an ode to our favorite desert dish into an epic. “Ambrosia” is her new single on New Professor. Don’t miss her on West Coast dates with Soccer Mommy.

Lower Dens is back with the compelling “I Drive” from The Competition, their brand new LP on Ribbon Music. “Until My Lungs Are Cleared” is the title track of the forthcoming LP from Ariel View, out 10/18 on Epitaph. The Inland Empire unit’s release show will be held at the Bootleg Theater, LA on 10/17.

Finishing up this week, our man Ben Cook (Fucked Up) is back as Young Guv, and new jam “Try Not To Hang On So Hard” is just what you need. The new EP GUV II on Run For Cover Records is out 10/25, and he’ll be opening East Coast dates on the upcoming Vivian Girls tour.
