TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 9/23/2021 Edition

September 23. 2021 | By Wayne Jessup

Welcome back to another Tracks, kicking off this time with Australian/English quartet Fortitude Valley. Get lost in the rousing new single “All Hail The Great Destroyer”, (spoiler alert: it’s about her cat), from their self-titled debut LP, due out 10/29 on Fika Recordings. Chicago-based Lala Lala is back, following up her 2018 breakthrough The Lamb with “Prove It”, showcasing her new LP I Want The Door To Open, out 10/8 on Hardly Art.

Maxshh is the project of Max Goldstein, continuing to spin out more sonic adventures from his Massachusetts headquarters. “Maple Leaf Etc.” is a stunning tangent, neatly encapsulating his journey from the bedroom to the kitchen sink. The full-length Bonus Flowers comes out tomorrow on Exploding In Sound Records. Finishing up this week, the riveting ballad “Return” is the first taste of Engine Of Hell, the next step in the journey of Emma Ruth Rundle. It will release 11/5 on Sargent House.
