TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 6/30/2022 Edition

June 30. 2022 | By Wayne Jessup

Welcome back to Tracks of the Week, getting it started at home with “Half Yesterday” from San Francisco duo Flowertown (Karina Gill and Mike Ramos). It’s the title track of their new LP, due out 7/8 on Mt. St. Mtn. Across the country, but in a similar bedroom, NYC’s Frances Chang is up next with “i quit cigs” from her upcoming album of scrappy lo-fi jams. Support Your Local Nihilist releases 7/22 on Destiny Is A Dog.

Off to Melbourne, Australia for our next selection. After a series of singles and covers, “I’ve Got A Secret” is Karen Harding’s latest, as well as the title track of her first EP, out 7/8. Closing up shop this week on the good foot, it’s the unstoppable MUNA with “What I Want”. The LA trio unleashed their self-titled third LP last week on Saddest Factory/Dead Oceans.
