TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 5/19/2022 Edition

May 19. 2022 | By Wayne Jessup

Welcome back to Tracks, kicking off this edition with the return of Easthampton, Mass. trio Editrix, following up last year’s debut Tell Me I’m Bad with a new LP: Editrix II: Editrix Goes To Hell, out 6/3 on Exploding In Sound. Gnarly and assured, “One Truck Gone” is our tune of choice.

Post Wax IdolsHether Fortune has explored a number of paths, but all roads led back to the studio. The Sober Karoake, Act I single, (“The Road Back” + “No Evil Can Happen To A Good Man”), refines the focus on her music with a widescreen panache. It’s out now on her own Etruscan Gold label.

Back in LA, Warpaint have unveiled the sinuous groove of “Champion”, from Radiate Like This, their first LP in over five years, just released on Heirlooms/Virgin Music. Finishing up this week back home in the Bay Area with SF art punks Rip Room, “Worth Repeating” is off of Alight and Resound, their debut LP, due out 5/27 on Spartan Records.
