YOU GOTTA SEE THIS: “When Will You Die?” by They Might Be Giants

January 30. 2012 | By Sean Morris

“When Will You Die?” is not a comment on the career of They Might Be Giants, which has outlived too many self-destructive artists to count. Their typically jubilant track is actually an ode to anyone with a penchant for recklessness. The song’s visual companion serves as an abbreviated instruction manual for an inventive way to use discarded cardboard. The cover of Join Us, TMBG’s last album, is apparently more than just a funny picture. Better still, a how-to-make-your-own-monster-truck-hearse video also exists (here), for people with too much free time (and cardboard).
