TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 12/19/19 Edition

December 19. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

This week on Tracks, it’s all about setting the table for 2020, with a look at some upcoming projects we’re excited about. Cold Beat is back with a new single, “Flat Earth”, inspired by the California wildfires. Look out for a new LP from them in the new year on DFA. Las Kellies, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, return with “Funny Money”, a preview of their forthcoming LP Suck This Tangerine, out 3/27 on Fire Records.

Hard to think of a more simpatico pairing than Leon Bridges with the mighty Khruangbin. “Texas Sun” is the title track of their new EP, out 2/7 on Dead Oceans. Every day, we’re this close to saying screw it, and moving to Melbourne, Australia. Cable Ties is yet another reason why. Newly signed to Merge, their 2018 single “Tell Them Where To Go” has been given a new lease on life to celebrate. Eyes out for them at SXSW ’20. Taking out the decade in the finest way possible, Jason Lytle has dropped a new Grandaddy epic “RIP Coyote Condo #5”.
