TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 1/14/2021 Edition

January 14. 2021 | By Wayne Jessup

Setting the coordinates for New Orleans to kick off this week’s Tracks with “Dirty”, from the anarcho-dance punks JOY. Their self-titled EP from October has been picked up for a cassette release on Girlsville, due out 2/5, aka the year’s first Bandcamp Friday. UK-based Shame have raised their game with “Alphabet”, from their new LP Drunk Tank Pink, out tomorrow on Dead Oceans.

After two blazing singles, (“Science Fair” and “Sunglasses”) backing up a burgeoning rep for their live performances, London’s Black Country, New Road take the next step with “Track X”, which just scratches the surface of their full-length debut For The First Time, out 2/5 on Ninja Tune. Finishing off this week, Glitterer is back with “Didn’t Want It” from their forthcoming LP Life Is Not A Lesson, out 2/26 on Anti- Records.
