HEAR THIS: The Lonely Wild

This quintet sort of give you the feeling, in more than one song, that something big has happened or is happening. Singer Andrew Carroll’s earnest vocals alone are worth listening to. But alongside Jessi Williams’ vocals, and guitarist Andrew Schneider’s twangy (verging on country) sounds; they have arrived at a new genre. Well, not without Farina’s drums and Ryan Ross’s trumpet and keys. The Lonely Wild is dramatic, but not theatrical. Their sound is epic, but not grandiose. There is content behind the structure, and it is quite beautiful to hear. Listen to song “Poor Fools,” and we’re pretty sure you’ll be hooked. As long as you like songs that urge you to sing along to its adroit lyrics and dance while you’re at it.
