January 27. 2011 | By Lauren Nagel

This is one of those weekends where I kiss my bed goodbye and promise a rain-check on sleep and general productivity. Get your (mostly free!) music on, Bay.

Thursday, Jan 27 (TONIGHT, biatches):

Mama Buzz Cafe, Oakland: 7:30pm, FREE
Jacob Fiss-Hobart (of Sunday Ghost) & Mark Allen-Piccolo, performing songs in the popular style (read: mellow, indie sweetness). You do not need to have a hyphenated name to attend. – AND –
Coleman/Shelton/Vittum. A delightful improvising trio featuring sax/electronics, Moog synthesizer and drums (read: really f-ckin great musicians who will make any/everything sound delicious).

19 Broadway, Fairfax: 10pm, FREE
Simon Sez presents 4th Hip-Hop Thursdays featuring The Getback (Rafael Casal & Daveed Diggs). These are the cats responsible for the Get:Live series and they never, ever disappoint. Word is that they haven’t hit the stage in a minute and will thusly play a long set. Yes, please.

Friday, Jan 28:

Cafe du Nord, San Francisco: 9pm, $12
THE 21ST CENTURY‘s first show of the year! Feel good pop with a hint of yesteryear. Please ask Bevan why the new Trader Joe’s cocoa tastes like burning. With Sloe and Roosevelt Radio.

Saturday, Jan 29:

The Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco: 8:30pm, $10
The Attachments long-awaited CD release show, featuring the experimental blend of electronic rock, acoustic sweetness, and old school harmonies for which they’re known. And the CD is yours for free with admission! Supported by friends The Hot Toddies and Scrabbel.

El Rio, San Francisco: 9pm, $5
BURNT‘s CD release! These fellas are touring monsters and have refined their sound down to the essence of solid rocksteady reggae (read: get your dance on). They also happen to be the nicest boys in town. Bonus. With Synrgy and Santos Perdidos.
