Picture This: The Thermals + Bit Brigade + Daikon @ Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco 2/5/15
The Thermals returned to the Bay Area to play Magfest’s Rockage and Bottom of the Hill was the first stop of this string of shows. Hutch Harris and Kathy Foster lived in the South Bay before moving to Portland to form The Thermals. They consistently master a stripped down indie rock sound with thoughtful punk lyrics.

Chiptuners, Bit Brigade were in center slot. They provide a unique twist, where a gamer is also a member of the band and the core musicians create his sountrack. He engages in what’s called, speedrunning; where the player completes the game as fast as possible.

Locals, Daikon opened the evening and set a high bar for musicianship. Especially for new ears, the crowd was engaged with the pleasant surprise of such a strong opener. Their songs are pop, yet technical and full of heart. A fun blend of Superchunk, American Football and Lemuria.
