TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 9/19/19 Edition

September 19. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

This week on Tracks, we’ll kick off with Bay Area quartet Sour Widows second single “Pilot Light”, released just last week. It follows up their debut single “Tommy”, with both being part of a full EP in the pipeline for later this year. Catch Sour Widows live with Pile, 11/1 at the New Parish, Oakland. Fime followed their hearts from the Bay Area to LA, and “Solo/Together” is a potent taste of their forthcoming Sprawl EP, out 10/11, and produced by Melina Duterte (aka Jay Som).

Seattle’s Great Grandpa is back with “Mono no Aware”, from their new LP Four of Arrows; due 10/25 on Double Double Whammy. Keep an eye out for them as special guests on the west coast dates of the upcoming Vivian Girls reunion shows. Keeping the west coast theme intact, Tether hails from Perth on Australia’s West Coast, and their April single “Empty Spaces” continues to occupy real estate on our turntable. Finishing up, it’s welcome back to the mighty Dogbreth. “When U Call My Name” is our first look at their forthcoming LP Ever Loving, out 10/25 Asian Man Records.
