Old Man Canyon @ MHOW, NYC-11

There was not another place I would rather be than at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on a Tuesday night. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Old Man Canyon was the absolutely perfect opener for The Paper Kites.

Echoed by the haunting harmonies and accompanied by the graceful synths, it felt as if the band took us on a road-trip through the Vancouver Island landscape. Lead singer, Jett Pace, serenaded us as their sound reminisced the warm feeling of singing around a campfire. It was the moment when I closed my eyes that they were truly special—drums, keyboards, and the subtle strumming of the bass and guitar beautifully conjoined to one piece. As they finished their tour in Brooklyn, Old Man Canyon gave it their all, performing songs from their new album out in January and selected songs from the Phantoms & Friends EP.
