FROM ACROSS THE POND: Dry The River

October 21. 2011 | By Amanda Penlington

The latest UK band to be influenced by the re-emergence of folk is Dry The River. The indie quintet combines acoustic and electric guitars, bass, and percussion with violin to create powerful melodies. Their latest EP Weights and Measures is set to be released November 14th and the group played a CMJ showcase last night, only one day after completing a UK tour with Bombay Bicycle Club. Dry The River has been wooed by a variety of record labels and with tracks like the commanding ballad “New Ceremony” gaining the band fans across the UK, it’s easy to see why. One to watch.
