The Pharmacy
Dig Your Grave EP
[Kind Turkey Records]

The beauty of the EP is that you gain insight into a band’s mission and response to what their fans want. With Dig Your Grave, The Pharmacy‘s newest EP, they’re giving their fans more of the cool psychedelic garage rock that they know and love, and as a new listener, I’m curious to hear more. Dig Your Grave gives us an enticing and varied preview to their forthcoming LP (release date has yet to be announced). The opening track “Dig Your Grave” feeds the cravings for the fan of psychedelia with awesome keyboard runs and fuzzy guitars. Those who appreciate a more laid-back lo-fi vibe will dig the instrumental “Lazy Bones” and pretty swirls of guitar and harmonies on “Pines” and “Burn Yr Bridges.” With a voice like Ray Davies, lead singer/guitarist Scott Yoder brings together the ’60s “Nuggets” sound with bandmates Brendhan Bowers (drums) and Stefan Rubitz (keyboards). It all sounds so different, but it’s all The Pharmacy – a little something for everyone.
