St. Patrick’s what? The holiday went nearly unnoticed on the second day of SXSW, where the performances were all about high energy, dance parties, folk influences, and coed vocals – sometimes all at once.
I don’t normally go see bands just because of blog hype or one good song I downloaded, but I spent all five days of CMJ doing just that, hoping to make some worthwhile discoveries. The following bands put their allotted (and often very short) time slots to good use and made me want to come back for more.
