FROM THE NEWS NEST: The Libertines reuniting for U.K. fests and more.

Man, it feels like just yesterday we were calling for Pete Doherty to get his act together, and we’re hearing today that he and the rest of the original Libertines line up have reportedly agreed to perform at the Leeds and Reading festivals in August for $2.2 million. And if that goes well, the boys may be recording new material and touring again.

Stars re-record ‘We Are the World’

Quincy Jones has done it again, but this time it’s for Haiti. The mega-producer has reached out to nearly 100 musicians to re-record the hit song “We Are the World” to benefit the Haiti Relief Fund. The song, which was recorded in 1985, originally raised $30 million for African humanitarian programs.
