The bright, beachy vibes of Surfer Blood and Cayucas were a welcome respite after a week of cold, wet weather in Los Angeles. After a dreamy set from Cayucas, Surfer Blood kept the energy up by tossing candy into the crowd before frontman John Paul Pitts jumped in himself. The show ended with both bands teaming up in a game of cover roulette where we learned that no one actually knows the words to “La Bamba” but it doesn’t really matter as long as you’re having fun.
