PICTURE THIS: The Orwells + special guests @ The Observatory, Santa Ana 3/20/14

March 24. 2014 | By Samantha Saturday

Burgerama vets The Orwells kicked off their west coast tour with a pre-party for the two-day, three-stage Burger Records festival. In true Orwellian fashion, the young Chicago group got weird on the Observatory stage, including some duct tape bondage and pizza in places it doesn’t belong (you don’t want to know). Singer Mario Cuomo appeared possessed by the punk spirit – you could see it in his eyes and hunched swagger.

The bill also touted numerous acts that are Burger staples across both the main Observatory stage and Constellation Room. We were happy to catch some of our favorites including Criminal Hygiene, Twin Peaks, and Thee Rain Cats.
