PICTURE THIS: Silian Rail, Big Long Now, Mortar and Pestle, Groundskeeper @ Sub/Mission, SF 3/9/12
About 60 people attended Friday night as four Oakland based prog/post-rock bands played a benefit show at the Sub/Mission art-space in San Francisco to raise money for a West Oakland Elementary School. The music was rocking and the audience looked to be enjoying themselves immensely. Sub/Mission is an art gallery/music venue between 17th and 18th on Mission in SF. The venue claims to support independent artists and musicians and that kind of ally to the arts is always a good thing. One thing left a bad taste in my mouth, though, the back wall sports a huge portrait of George W. Bush with a Hitler mustache, WTF?
