PICTURE THIS: MONO @ The Casbah, SD 10/8/12

MONO, an instrumental post-rock band hailing from Tokyo, Japan, needed no introduction when alighting the stage at the Casbah on a chilly San Diego evening. Immediately the rich instrumentals overtook the crowd, pulling the audience into an auditory tale, symphonic and powerful. Could this sound really be coming from only four members? The tracks seemed to meld together, and just like that, MONO had played for over an hour and a half. As the music faded, they left the stage as quietly as they came on, only to the cheers of their adoring fans.
