Last month Matt Pond announced that he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from touring. Tears were definitely shed over that news, but there is a final run of shows which included a stop at the Echo on Thursday. With a fierce rhythm section borrowed from opener Laura Stevenson, the band attacked each song with ¬†ferocity. They touched on nearly every record in the band’s redoubtable catalogue from 2000’s Measure to this year’s The State of Gold, condensing over 15 years of material into a taut set that was over too soon.
