TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 3/25/2021 Edition

March 25. 2021 | By Wayne Jessup

Getting this Tracks off to a rousing start, “Spring Cleaning” is the second new single this year from The Vovos, an Australian teenage punk quintet from Naarm, backing up February’s “Temporary Solution”, with both out now on Roolette Records.

serpentwithfeet first hit the Nest radar back in 2017, with a bravura performance at the Independent, going on to unleash the 2018 epic Soil. “Heart Storm (with NAO)” is the latest single from the long awaited Deacon, out tomorrow on Secretly Canadian.

Some Ember returns with the entrancing “Wellspring”, from new EP Held A Fragment Of The Moon, out now on Candle. Including last year’s single “Rift”, the EP follows up full-length Submerging The Sun and its companion EP Submerged.

Austin duo Tele Novella Is not easily pigeon-holed, but if you’re comfortable with the Greil Marcus phrase ‘the old Weird America’, you’ll feel right at home with “Paper Crown” from their debut LP Merlynn Belle, out now on Kill Rock Stars.
