Back in 2013, Eric D. Johnson killed Fruit Bats, but resuscitated the band last year and put out a new album this past May titled Absolute Loser.

Thursday night’s show at the Bootleg Theater was the last of the west coast run with Mattson 2, the instrumental jazz twins based here in LA. A great crowd of long-time fans was present and dancing for both bands’ sets. Fruit Bats will be touring their sweet Midwest and the East Coast beginning late October.
