“Feast Of Love” by Pity Sex

The word emo seems to be one that most would rather leave behind with their memories of high school, but there’s been a steady revival spreading throughout the underground in the last few years and thankfully it’s brought our ears to the foggy, reverb laden sounds of Michigan’s Pity Sex.
Regardless of if you’re familiar with Pity Sex or not, their debut full length, Feast Of Love, is ready to be consumed whole over and over. Picking up where their EP, Dark World, left off, Feast Of Love shows the band serving up ten tracks that are overflowing with angst and passion while gravitating between caliginous and raucous atmospheres. It’s evident on tracks like “Drown Me Out” and “Fold” that the driving force behind Pity Sex (and Feast Of Love as well) is a knack for creating moods and pulling emotion out of their listeners. While this album’s finest moments can easily go unnoticed, that’s more of a reason to plug in your headphones or blare it in a quiet room and give it your full attention.
