PICTURE THIS: Exquisite Corps @ Bottom of the Hill, SF 12/13/12

Take it from us, Exquisite Corps are one to watch out for. The Sacramento five-piece put on quite the show at Bottom of the Hill Thursday night, as part of a string of West Coast tour dates to promote their new eponymous release. Tho

ugh their music displays the orchestral sensibilities of Murder by Death and Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s, the band’s live show also manages to harness the hard rock energy of Cursive — and the result makes for a rather enjoyable performance. Lead vocalist Bryan V. showcased his impressive range on songs like the haunting “Tyger Wine,” while two especially badass ladies, Kristin Arnold and Reylynn Goessling, wailed away on violin. Unfortunately, few were in attendance to witness it (we’ll blame the less-than-full house on San Francisco’s bitterly cold weather as of late), but we have a feeling this isn’t the last we’ve heard from Exquisite Corps.
