My Goodness – literally – kick-started the night at The Troubadour as drummer Andy Lum chewed, chomped, and spit out the core of his candy apple red drum kit. If you’re one of those hipsters that combs the blogs looking for set times so you can show up in your jean jacket minutes before the headliner hits the stage, leave the jacket home, throw on a white tee, and come early so you don’t miss the garage-blues rock band My Goodness. This two-piece band added a bass player to hit the road to support Augustines on tour and we think they kick ass.

Before the crowd could catch their breath, our favorite Brooklyn boys Augustines took the staged and proved once again that the legendary Troubadour brings some of the best rock bands to LA. Billy McCarthy was his typical charming self chatting us up in-between songs as if we were old friends. Toward the end of the night he asked where we were going next and when someone shouted Denny’s he rattled off menu items as if he was ready to go. His charm is equally matched by the passion and heart he pours into every song. Augustines never disappoint. The Augustines are a great old school rock band we’d willingly share our Moons Over Our Hammy with.
