Stars re-record ‘We Are the World’
Quincy Jones has done it again, but this time it’s for Haiti. The mega-producer hasĀ reached out to nearly 100 musicians to re-record the hit song “We Are the World” to benefit the Haiti Relief Fund. The song, which was recorded in 1985, originally raised $30 million for African humanitarian programs.
Jones joined Lionel Richie, who co-wrote the original song, to organize musicians from Barbra Streisand to Miley Cyrus. Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Celine Dion and Kanye West all showed up Monday night for what was described as a marathon recording session. The song will debut Feb. 12 during the Winter Olympics.
