TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 8/29/19 Edition

August 29. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

Leading off the hit parade this time out: Lisa Prank is back with “Rodeo”, from her upcoming LP Perfect Love Song, out 10/4 on Father/Daughter. Even if you’ve had the pleasure of her live shows, note that she’ll be rolling with a full band this time out, including 12/3 Cafe du Nord SF & 12/5 Bootleg LA. Pin is the latest offering from Signals Midwest, out now on Lauren Records. Repping Cleveland with an impeccably tight sound, “Sanctuary City” is our featured cut.

Straight outta Brisbane, Australia, Mallrat is back with “Charlie”, from her new EP, Driving Music. Amidst a run of festival dates down under, she will find time to pop over here for an appearance at the Rickshaw Stop on 10/11. Don’t miss it! Austin’s Molly Burch follows up last year’s First Flower LP with a brand new single “Your Party”, out now on Captured Tracks.

Caroline Polachek takes us home this week, finding life after Chairlift with an amazing new track “Ocean Of Tears”. This fall will see premiere performances of her new project, Pang, including NYC, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, and on this coast, 10/24 at Zebulon, LA.
