FROM THE NEWS NEST: The Shins Record Again

It looks like 2011 could be the year of The Shins. Lead singer James Mercer has spent the last couple of years touring and recording with his project Broken Bells (with Danger Mouse) but Mercer confirmed thatÂ he will record with the Shins and have a record out as soon as next year.

Mercer promises that fans can look forward to more up-tempo Shins material. The Shins features a “new aesthetic”, according to Mercer, as the original drummer and bassist/keyboardist are out, replaced by the Fruit Bats’ Ron Lewis and Modest Mouse’s Joe Plummer.
