The 2009 Bay Area Takeover
Undoubtedly one of the hottest showcases at SXSW this year will be over at the Beauty Bar on Thursday 3/19. Ok, maybe we’re a little biased, but our pals at the Bay Bridged and Tricycle Records never cease to amaze us. They eat, sleep, and breathe local love. And for two small local companies to take on such an endeavor is inspiring. While not the official SF showcase, it certainly could be. There are a heck of a lot of parties that will take place over the course of six magical days in Austin, but it’s pretty darn cool that San Francisco will be represented in various awesome, region-specific showcases.
The Bay Area Takeover takes place on Thursday, March 19th at the Beauty Bar in downtown Austin. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., live music will begin at noon and there will be FREE beer, coffee and donuts (while supplies last). Be sure to arrive early, because once they hit capacity, your RSVP won’t get you in any faster than one in, one out.
Now, let’s take a look at the most important part: the bands. All Bay Area-based acts, and all the best and brightest that the local music scene has to offer. This lineup will rock your socks off, guaranteed. To hear for yourself, be sure to download this free sampler of all 13 bands (via max3).
