PREVIEW: Love Letters To LA, 4/26/12

April 23. 2012 | By Bryan Wallace

It’s often hard to love your city when there are traffic jams, roads closed off for film sets, and sightseer’s cameras flashing in your peripherals. What Los Angeles residents need is a reminder of why they reside in this City of Angels. “Play Me, I’m Yours” is a sprawling art exhibition in which 30 pianos have been adorned and scattered across Los Angeles. People are encouraged — tourists and dwellers alike — to play these craftily decorated pianos.

On Thursday, April 26th, there will be a pop-up concert at the Egyptian Theatre plaza where over ten local artists will perform at one of the placed pianos. Each artist will play a song that depicts their love for Los Angeles and what the city means to them. The show begins at 8:45pm. Some of the partaking musicians are RACES, Morgan Karr, Kristy Hanson, and City Bird.

Take the time stroll down Hollywood Boulevard on April 26th. The event serves as a unique reminder of why Los Angeles is so precious in all of our hearts. For more information, visit their website at pianoslive.tumblr.com.
