TRACKS OF THE WEEK – 7/25/19 Edition

July 28. 2019 | By Wayne Jessup

This time out on Tracks of the Week, stop the presses, it’s the return of the Vivian Girls! “Sick” is the word, and it’s your first taste of the upcoming Memory, out 9/20 on Polyvinyl, who will also be kind enough to rerelease the first two LP’s as well. And did we mention tour dates? Check the details/buy tickets here.

Hellbent on running the emotional gamut this week, strap yourself in for the next one. “Do You Doubt Me Traitor” is one of the peaks of Lingua Ignota’s third act, Caligula. Once you stagger out of your darkened room, allow Penelope Isles to bring you back to life. “Leipzig” is off of their debut album, Until The Tide Creeps In.

Firmly established as a live favorite, New Orleans’ Tank and the Bangas have unleashed their debut album Green Balloon. Have a peek at their new video for “Hot Air Balloon”, and eyes up for October tour dates, including 10/3 Fonda Theater LA, 10/4 Soho Santa Barbara, and 10/8 Crystal Ballroom in Portland. Finishing up this edition, it’s Modern Love Child from Venice Beach, with their latest single “Ali”.
